The get.label command allows you to get a listing of the labels for each line of the OTU data that are currently stored in memory. This feature should help in using the label option for other commands, such as collect.single, rarefaction.single, and summary.single. For this tutorial you should download and decompress AmazonData.zip. You might also want to check out the get.line command.

To execute the get.label() command you first need to have either run the cluster() or read.otu() commands. Enter either of the following commands:

mothur > read.dist(phylip=98_lt_phylip_amazon.dist)
mothur > cluster(cutoff=0.10)

or

mothur > read.otu(list=98_lt_phylip_amazon.fn.list)

Next, enter the command at the mothur prompt

mothur > get.label()
